Facebook ads for an electrician usually cost $1,000 to $3,000 a month in ad spend to start, plus whatever you pay someone to run them. The ad spend goes to Meta and you control it. The second part, management, is where quotes differ: an agency retainer, a freelancer, a flat software fee, or your own evenings.
Below, the cost is split into the parts that matter for an electrical contractor, with the numbers worth working out before you commit. If you already want the account run for you, our Facebook ads for electricians page shows how AdBot does it for a flat monthly fee.
What do Facebook ads cost an electrical contractor?
Three costs stack up, and most quotes mention only one.
| Cost | Who gets paid | How it is set |
|---|---|---|
| Ad spend | Meta | The daily and monthly budget you choose |
| Management | An agency, a freelancer, software or you | Retainer, hourly rate, percentage of spend, flat software fee, or your time |
| Creative | A designer, a photographer or whoever writes the ads | Per project, or bundled into management |
An electrician who budgets $2,000 for ads and then finds a $1,500 management fee on top has a $3,500 monthly cost, with $2,000 of it actually reaching homeowners. Ask every provider for the total monthly figure before comparing.
Which electrical jobs justify Facebook ad spend?
Facebook is a planned-work channel. Someone with a dead outlet searches Google, so for emergency and troubleshooting calls the search side matters more, and we cover it in Google Ads for electricians. Facebook earns its budget on jobs where the homeowner has time to choose.
- Panel upgrades. Typically a four-figure job. A homeowner with a 100 amp panel and an electric car, a heat pump or an addition planned is a strong prospect, and the ticket is high enough to absorb a generous cost per lead.
- EV charger installs. Clear scope, a standard price range, one visit. It also leads naturally into a panel upgrade at the estimate.
- Whole-home generators and surge protection. Demand rises ahead of storm season, which is when a retargeting audience built earlier pays off.
- Lighting retrofits and remodel wiring. Slower decisions, so staying visible for weeks matters more than any single click.
Because each job has a different value, keep each in its own ad set. A panel upgrade lead is worth several times a ceiling fan install, and you want to see which offer books work, not an average of all of them.
What does Facebook ads management cost for electricians?
Management moves the total most, so here are the common models side by side.
| Option | Typical pricing model | Who makes daily changes | Watch for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Marketing agency | Monthly retainer, sometimes a setup fee, sometimes a share of ad spend | An account manager, often weekly | Minimum terms, and who owns the ad account if you leave |
| Freelance media buyer | Hourly rate or a monthly retainer | One person, within the hours you pay for | Availability when they have other clients |
| You, in Ads Manager | Your time | You, between jobs | The account is the first thing dropped on a busy week |
| AdBot | Flat monthly fee, $297 on Launch, never a percentage of spend | AdBot, every day, inside your cap | It drives visits to your site, so you still answer the phone |
Agency terms differ by company, so the table shows the shape of each option rather than a price. For agency and freelancer pricing in detail, read what a Facebook ads agency costs and freelance media buyer rates.
How do you work out what an electrician can pay per lead?
Start from a job you want more of. Say a panel upgrade brings $3,500 in revenue and about $1,400 in margin. If you close one in four estimates, a lead is worth roughly $350 of margin before ad costs, so paying $60 to $100 per lead leaves a healthy profit. Those figures are an example to show the method, not a benchmark. Plug in your own revenue, margin and close rate.
The same arithmetic shows why speed matters. A lead you call back in ten minutes closes far more often than one you reach the next morning, and no ad setting fixes a slow callback. Judge the ads by cost per booked estimate, not cost per click.
Why a flat fee matters as your ad budget grows
When management is a percentage of ad spend, raising the budget before storm season raises the bill, even though the work is the same. A flat fee stays put. At $297 a month, AdBot costs the same whether you spend $1,000 or $8,000 on ads, within the plan limits. Launch covers one platform and up to about $10,000 of monthly ad spend, and Growth at $697 covers up to about $50,000. Annual billing halves either price.
The ads run in your own Meta ad account, so the account and its data stay yours, and a hard daily and monthly cap means the spend cannot pass the number you set. You can cancel anytime. All plans are on the AdBot pricing page.
What AdBot does not do for an electrical contractor
AdBot runs Facebook and Instagram ads. It does not take calls, message leads, write estimates or build your website. It also cannot get paid for you: once the job is done, a tool that chases unpaid invoices with automatic email and text reminders for overdue invoices protects the margin the ads helped create.

Facebook ads cost questions
How much do Facebook ads cost for electricians per month?
Ad spend often starts between $1,000 and $3,000 a month, paid to Meta. Management is extra: an agency retainer, a freelancer, or a flat software fee such as AdBot's $297 a month on Launch. Add both for the real monthly cost.
Do Facebook ads work for electricians?
Yes, for planned work such as panel upgrades, EV chargers and generators, where the homeowner has time to choose. Emergency calls mostly come from search, so Facebook works best alongside it, not instead of it.
Is it cheaper to run Facebook ads myself?
It costs less in cash and more in time. The account needs a daily look to pause ads that spend without sending visits. If you cannot give it that, a flat-fee tool or a freelancer costs less than ad spend wasted on neglect.
Can I set a limit on what the ads spend?
Yes. In AdBot you set a daily and a monthly cap it cannot exceed, and one switch pauses everything. In Ads Manager you set campaign budgets yourself.
