Flat fee. We never take a cut of your ad spend.
Smartly.io does not publish prices, and its old pricing URL returns a 404. The best public number is buyer data from Vendr: the median Smartly customer pays about $90,000 a year, with reported contracts from $25,500 to $171,240. The fee is a percentage of the media spend you connect to the platform, widely reported at 2% to 5%, with a monthly minimum in the low thousands of dollars.
Every figure on this page was checked on October 13, 2026, and each one is labeled with where it comes from, because most Smartly pricing articles are written by its competitors and repeat each other's estimates. If you spend under about $50,000 a month on Meta and are pricing Smartly because you want the account run for you, our Smartly.io alternative page covers the flat-fee route.

How much does Smartly.io cost?
There is no price list, so the honest answer is a set of data points of different quality. This table separates what can be checked from what is only reported.
| Data point | Figure | Source | How solid |
|---|---|---|---|
| Published price | None. smartly.io/pricing returns a 404 and the site offers only a demo request | smartly.io | Verified |
| Median annual contract | $90,000 a year | Vendr buyer data | Verified on Vendr, sample size not stated |
| Lowest and highest contracts | $25,500 to $171,240 a year | Vendr buyer data | Verified on Vendr |
| Pricing model | Percentage fee on media spend, for both self-serve and managed service | G2 plan listing and customer reviews | Consistent across sources |
| Percentage rate | 2% to 5% of spend, most often quoted around 3% | Reddit r/PPC users and third-party reviews | Reported, not confirmed by Smartly |
| Monthly minimum | Roughly $4,000 to $5,000 | Third-party reviews and Reddit | Reported, varies by deal |
| Larger deals | $100,000 to $300,000 a year | Customer reports quoted on comparison sites | Anecdotal |
The Vendr range and the reported percentages agree with each other, which is a good sign. A $90,000 contract is $7,500 a month. At a 3% rate that is the fee on $250,000 of monthly ad spend, which is squarely the kind of advertiser Smartly sells to. The lowest reported contract, $25,500, works out to $2,125 a month, so not every customer pays the $4,000 to $5,000 minimum that review sites repeat.
Smartly pricing by monthly ad spend
Since the fee follows your spend, you can estimate a quote before the sales call. The table applies the reported 2%, 3% and 5% rates to common budgets. These are estimates built from the figures above, not Smartly's rate card, and a reported minimum of about $4,000 a month would override the lower cells.
| Monthly ad spend | At 2% | At 3% | At 5% | 3% over a year |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| $50,000 | $1,000 | $1,500 | $2,500 | $18,000 |
| $100,000 | $2,000 | $3,000 | $5,000 | $36,000 |
| $250,000 | $5,000 | $7,500 | $12,500 | $90,000 |
| $500,000 | $10,000 | $15,000 | $25,000 | $180,000 |
| $1,000,000 | $20,000 | $30,000 | $50,000 | $360,000 |
Read the first two rows carefully. At $50,000 a month, 3% is only $1,500, well under the minimum most sources report. If that minimum applies, you would pay $4,000 or more, which is an effective rate of 8% or higher. That is why reviewers at smaller agencies describe Smartly as hard to justify below six figures of monthly spend, and why the percentage is the wrong number to anchor on if you are a mid-size advertiser. Ask for the minimum first.
Does Smartly charge on all of your ad spend?
This is the most important question to put in writing. Several customers, including a long-time user in the r/PPC thread on Smartly pricing, say the percentage is applied to the total spend of every ad account you connect, not only to the campaigns you build or manage in Smartly. If you connect an account that spends $300,000 a month and use Smartly for a third of it, the difference between those two readings is $6,000 a month at 3%.
Smartly has not confirmed this publicly, and contracts differ. Treat it as a term to negotiate, and ask the sales team to define "managed spend" in the order form.
What drives a Smartly quote up or down
Smartly sells three product suites: Creative for producing and versioning ads, Media for launching and optimizing campaigns, and Intelligence for planning and measurement. It covers the major social platforms, connected TV and the open web through DSPs, and names Samsung, Spotify, Uber, Ralph Lauren and Foot Locker as customers. A quote reflects how much of that you buy.
- Connected spend. The base of the fee. More spend usually means a lower percentage and a higher total.
- Suites and channels. Creative automation alone costs less than the full platform across social, CTV and display.
- Managed service. Having Smartly's team operate campaigns is priced above self-serve.
- Term. Expect an annual contract. Multi-year terms are where discounts appear.
- Onboarding and training. Some reviewers mention these as separate costs. Ask whether they are included.
How to negotiate Smartly pricing
Buyers who have been through it leave useful hints. One company on Vendr, with between 201 and 1,000 employees, reports that committing to a lower spend level up front reduced their monthly payments, and that they added spend-based percentage tiers to the agreement so the rate falls as spend grows. Both are worth copying.
- Commit to the spend you are sure of, not your forecast. Add tiers that lower the rate if you grow into it.
- Get "managed spend" defined, so accounts you connect only for reporting are not billed.
- Ask for the minimum monthly fee and whether it rises at renewal. Reviewers on G2 describe minimums increasing over time.
- Ask what happens in a low-spend month. A percentage fee should fall with your budget; a minimum does not.
- Price the alternative first. A quote from a second vendor, or the cost of doing the work another way, is the only real pressure you have.
Is Smartly.io worth it?
For a brand or agency spending several hundred thousand dollars a month across many markets, often yes. Smartly's strength is producing and versioning creative at a volume no team can match by hand, then pushing it to every channel from one place. If you run hundreds of product and market combinations, 3% of spend can be cheaper than the designers and traffickers it replaces.
It is a poor fit in two cases. The first is a budget under roughly $100,000 a month, where the minimum turns a 3% fee into something much larger. The second is a team with no one to operate it. Smartly is a platform people work in all day, and the software does not decide on its own which campaign gets tomorrow's budget. If what you need is creative volume alone, a lighter tool that can turn a product URL into ad copy and on-brand images costs a small fraction of an enterprise contract.

What to use when Smartly is too big for your budget
Most people who search for Smartly pricing are not Samsung. They spend $10,000 to $50,000 a month on Meta, heard Smartly automates media buying, and want to know whether they can afford it. At that spend the reported minimum alone is $48,000 to $60,000 a year before a single ad runs.
AdBot is built for that budget. You give it your website and a monthly budget. It writes the ads, proposes Facebook and Instagram campaigns for you to approve, launches them in your own Meta ad account, and then works the account every day: pausing ads that spend without results and moving budget toward the ad sets that perform, inside a hard daily and monthly cap. Launch is $297 a month for up to about $10,000 of ad spend, and Growth is $697 for budgets up to about $50,000. There is no percentage of spend and no annual contract.
It is not a Smartly replacement for an enterprise. AdBot runs Meta only, and it does not do connected TV or thousand-variant creative templating. What it does is the daily buying work that a small team never gets to. AI Facebook ads explains the daily loop, Facebook ads management tool compares it with working in Ads Manager, and AdBot pricing lists every plan.
Frequently asked questions about Smartly.io pricing
What does Smartly.io do?
Smartly.io is an enterprise advertising platform that automates ad creative production and campaign management across social platforms, connected TV and the open web. Large brands and agencies use it to build thousands of ad variations from templates and product feeds, launch them in every market, and report on results in one place.
Does Smartly.io have a free trial?
No self-serve trial is offered on its website. The only way in is to request a demo, after which the sales team scopes a proposal. Expect an annual contract, so run any pilot terms and exit clauses past whoever signs your vendor agreements.
Is there a minimum ad spend for Smartly.io?
Smartly does not state one. Reviews and comparison sites report a minimum monthly fee of roughly $4,000 to $5,000, which in practice makes it uneconomic below about $100,000 a month in ad spend. Vendr's lowest reported contract is $25,500 a year, so smaller deals exist.
Why does Smartly.io not show its prices?
Because every deal is quoted. The fee depends on connected ad spend, which product suites you buy, whether Smartly's team manages campaigns, and the contract length. That is normal for enterprise software, and it means the first number you hear is a starting point for negotiation.
What is a cheaper alternative to Smartly.io?
It depends on the job. For automation rules, Birch starts at $49 a month. For Meta analytics and creative tools, Madgicx runs $45 to $329. To have Facebook and Instagram campaigns built and managed daily without hiring a buyer, AdBot is a flat $297 or $697 a month.
