Shopify Catalog Facebook Ads and Advantage+ Catalog Ads Managed for Your Store Every Day
Shopify catalog Facebook ads (Meta calls them Advantage+ catalog ads, and many people still say dynamic product ads) show each shopper the product they are most likely to buy, with its own photo, name and price pulled from your store. Setting up the catalog is free. Running it well is the hard part: products go out of stock, some spend for weeks without a sale, and best sellers sit in the same ad set as everything else.
AdBot connects to your Shopify store, reads the catalog every day and runs your approved products as one catalog campaign in your own Meta ad account. Products that spend 14 days without a purchase, go out of stock or leave the store drop out of the product set, return when they are back in stock, and your best sellers get their own ad set with a bigger share of the same budget. Launch is $297 a month for up to about $10,000 of ad spend.
What you can order now: New plans run Meta ads on Facebook and Instagram. Google Ads campaigns are not available for new orders right now, and TikTok campaigns are not available to order.

What it handles
Everything, from research to daily optimization
You set the goal and the budget. AdBot does the work a media buyer would, and reports back in plain language.
- Daily Shopify catalog sync for your Meta catalog ad
- Out of stock products removed and restored automatically
- Products with 14 days of spend and no purchase taken out
- Best sellers in their own ad set with more budget
- Approval before anything launches or spends
- A change log of every edit, with undo
A day of optimization
Every 24h- 1 Reads yesterday's spend, clicks, conversions and cost per result from your Meta ad account.
- 2 Pauses the ads that spent without bringing anyone to your site.
- 3 Shifts budget, within your cap, toward the ad sets hitting your target cost.
- 4 Moves budget inside an ad set to the ad with the better cost per result.
- 5 Logs every change so you can read it and reverse it.
AdBot never spends past the daily cap you set.
What Shopify catalog Facebook ads are and why stores use them
A catalog ad is one ad that holds your whole product set. Instead of building a separate ad for every product, you give Meta the catalog and Meta picks which product to show each person, using the photo, title and price from your store. On Facebook and Instagram this format is called an Advantage+ catalog ad; it is the same thing older guides call dynamic product ads or DPA.
For a Shopify store with more than a handful of products, this is usually the cheapest way to sell at scale. People who viewed a product see it again, people who never visited see the items Meta predicts they want, and you do not have to guess which ten products deserve their own ad. It needs a pixel that records purchases, because Meta learns from who buys what.

Why catalog ads on a Shopify store go wrong without daily care
The setup takes an afternoon. The problems arrive over the next months, and they are all about the product set, not the ad.
- Sold-out products keep spending. The catalog marks them out of stock, but if the product set was never filtered for availability, Meta can still spend on them or on near-empty variants.
- A few products eat the budget without selling. Meta favors products that get clicks. A cheap, eye-catching item can take a large share of spend for weeks with no purchases while nobody looks at product-level results.
- Best sellers share an ad set with everything else. With one product set, the budget is spread across hundreds of items. Proven sellers get no more room than a product that has never sold.
- The catalog drifts from the store. New products, removed products, price changes and broken images pile up. Nobody notices until an ad shows the wrong price.
How AdBot runs your catalog ads every day
You connect the store once. AdBot reads the public storefront catalog, or uses an Admin API token from your own store app if the store is private or you want products ranked by sales. You approve which products may advertise, and with a pixel that records purchases those products launch as one Advantage+ catalog campaign in your own Meta ad account. Until the pixel records purchases, approved products run as separate product ads, so you are never stuck waiting.
Then the daily routine runs on its own. The catalog is synced every day: new products are added, removed products are taken out and the product set is rewritten. A product that is out of stock leaves the product set and returns when it is back. A product that spends for 14 days in the catalog ad without a single purchase leaves the set too, and its budget goes to the products that sell. Products that sold in the last 7 days form a best seller ad set that gets a larger share of the same daily total; if no product stands out, the whole budget goes back into one ad set.
Every one of those moves appears in the change log with the product, the spend and the reason, and each can be undone. You can open Ads Manager at any time and see exactly what AdBot did. The rest of the account, from prospecting ad sets to lookalike audiences per market, runs the same way, as the AI ads for Shopify page explains.

Why are my Shopify products not syncing with Facebook?
Most sync failures come from four causes: the product is not published to the Facebook and Instagram sales channel, required fields such as price, image or availability are missing, the product breaks Meta commerce policies and was rejected, or the store is password protected so the catalog cannot be read. Check the channel's product status first, then the catalog diagnostics in Commerce Manager.
AdBot reports its own read of the catalog in plain words. If the store does not share its public catalog, or sits behind a password page, it says so and asks for an Admin API token instead. If a refresh fails, the catalog from the previous refresh keeps running, so your ads do not stop because of one bad sync.
Do I need to resize my Shopify product images for Facebook ads?
Usually not. Meta crops catalog images to the placement, and square images on a clean background work across feeds, Stories and Reels. Meta asks for at least 500 by 500 pixels, and 1080 by 1080 is the safe size. Resize only if your photos are very wide, very small or have the product near the edge, because the crop can cut it off.
If you want frames, price badges or branded backgrounds on every product, that is what catalog design apps sell. Our Confect pricing breakdown shows what that layer costs and when it pays for itself.
Are Shopify Facebook catalog apps free?
The basic connection is. Shopify's Facebook and Instagram sales channel is free to install and keeps your Meta catalog in sync. Feed optimization apps and catalog design apps cost extra, from small monthly fees for feed tools up to $299 a month and more for design platforms. None of them choose which products should get budget.
That last part is the job a store actually pays for, either with its own hours or with a media buyer. AdBot does it for a flat monthly fee: see AdBot pricing for every plan, or compare the cost of a person in our freelance media buyer rates guide.
Who Shopify catalog ads with AdBot are for
The fit is strongest for US Shopify stores with roughly 20 to a few thousand products, a pixel that records purchases and somewhere between $1,500 and $10,000 a month to spend on Meta. That is the range where catalog ads clearly beat hand-built product ads, but a full-time buyer or agency retainer would eat the margin.
- Apparel, beauty and home goods stores with frequent stock changes, where sold-out sizes and colors waste money fastest.
- Stores with a long tail of products, where a few items quietly take budget without selling.
- Owners who run Meta ads themselves today and want the daily product-level work done for them. The Facebook ads for ecommerce page covers the rest of the account.
- Stores leaving a spend-tier tool or an agency. Compare the options on the AdScale alternative and Smartly.io alternative pages.
When AdBot is not the right catalog tool
Be honest about the gaps before you buy. AdBot runs catalog ads on Facebook and Instagram only; it does not run Google Shopping, Pinterest or TikTok catalogs. It uses your product photos as they are, so if you want designed frames, price badges or video templates on each product, add a design app. And it needs a Shopify store: other platforms are not read for catalog ads today.
If your problem is that nobody knows where the account is losing money right now, start with a Facebook ads audit. If you only want a tool for making more ad creative, the best AI ad tools list compares the creative generators.
