Marpipe Alternative and Marpipe Competitors for Shopify Catalog Ads Run Daily

Marpipe is a catalog ad design platform. It puts frames, prices, badges and product level video on the products in your feed, so a dynamic product ad on Facebook or Instagram looks like a designed ad instead of a plain product photo. Its paid plans start at $199 a month for 500 SKUs and one channel, and Enterprise is $999 a month with a design strategist.

What Marpipe does not do is run the ad account. Budgets, prospecting ad sets, which campaigns get more money tomorrow and what happens to an ad that spent $90 with no sale stay with you or your media buyer. AdBot does that part. It connects to your Shopify store, runs your approved products as an Advantage+ catalog campaign in your own Meta account, takes sold-out and no-sale products out of the product set, gives best sellers their own ad set and manages the rest of the account daily. Launch is $297 a month for up to about $10,000 of ad spend.

What it handles

Everything, from research to daily optimization

You set the goal and the budget. AdBot does the work a media buyer would, and reports back in plain language.

  • Daily Shopify catalog sync for your Meta catalog ad
  • Out of stock and no-sale products taken out automatically
  • Best sellers in their own ad set with more budget
  • Prospecting, retargeting and lookalikes managed daily
  • A hard spend cap you set
  • A change log of every edit, with undo

A day of optimization

Every 24h
  • 1 Reads yesterday's spend, clicks, conversions and cost per result from your Meta ad account.
  • 2 Pauses the ads that spent without bringing anyone to your site.
  • 3 Shifts budget, within your cap, toward the ad sets hitting your target cost.
  • 4 Moves budget inside an ad set to the ad with the better cost per result.
  • 5 Logs every change so you can read it and reverse it.

AdBot never spends past the daily cap you set.

Why stores look for a Marpipe alternative

Most people who search for a Marpipe alternative fall into one of two groups, and they need different things.

  • The catalog ad looks great and still loses money. Designed frames lift click-through, but the campaign behind them was never managed. Sold-out sizes keep spending, a handful of cheap products eat the budget, and nobody has touched the prospecting ad sets in weeks. Better images do not fix any of that.
  • The SKU count makes the plan jump. Marpipe counts every variant as a SKU. A store with 300 products in six sizes has 1,800 SKUs, well over the 500 SKU cap on the $199 Startup plan. At $100 per extra 200 SKUs, Startup for that store costs about $899 a month, close to the $999 Enterprise price.
  • The team has no media buyer. Marpipe Enterprise includes a design strategist and a 90-day performance plan, but the strategist works on creative, not on daily buying. Someone still has to run Ads Manager.

How much does Marpipe cost?

Marpipe lists a $0 Base plan for exploring designs and launching plain catalog ads, a Startup plan at $199 a month with all creative features, 1 channel, 1 market, 3 live designs and a 500 SKU cap, and an Enterprise plan from $999 a month with product level video, unlimited channels and live designs, and a dedicated design strategist. Extra SKUs are $100 per 200, extra location feeds are $299 a month each, and hourly syncing is an add-on.

Feed management is sold separately: a free DIY tier, or White Glove at $0.05 per SKU with a $400 monthly minimum, which is also where SKU Optimization (automatically filtering weak products) is unlocked. Marpipe also offers 50% off the first year of Enterprise to brands spending under $50,000 a month on ads. The full plan math is in our Marpipe pricing breakdown.

Who are Marpipe's competitors?

Marpipe competes in three different groups, and only one of them does the same job.

  • Catalog design tools. Confect, Cropink, Feedr and CustomPix sell the same kind of product: frames, prices and badges on catalog images. Confect starts at $299 a month with 3,000 grouped products, which can work out cheaper than Marpipe for stores with many variants. See our Confect pricing breakdown.
  • Enterprise automation platforms. Smartly.io and Hunch combine catalog creative with campaign automation across networks, at prices built for large brands. Our Smartly.io alternative page covers what that costs.
  • Tools that run the account. This is where AdBot sits. It does not design frames; it decides which products and ad sets get the budget every day and runs the rest of the Meta account around the catalog ad.

How AdBot runs catalog ads instead of designing them

You connect your Shopify store once and approve which products may advertise. With a pixel that records purchases, AdBot launches them as one Advantage+ catalog campaign in your own Meta ad account; until then, approved products run as separate product ads. You see the plan before anything spends.

After launch the catalog is synced every day. New products are added and removed ones are taken out. A product that goes out of stock leaves the product set and returns when it is back. A product that spends for 14 days in the catalog ad without a purchase leaves the set, and its budget moves to products that sell. Products that sold in the last 7 days get their own best seller ad set with a larger share of the same daily total.

Around the catalog ad, AdBot runs the prospecting and retargeting ad sets, builds lookalike audiences per market, writes new ad copy to test and moves budget inside the hard cap you set. Every change appears in the change log with the reason, and each one can be undone. The details of the catalog side are on the Shopify catalog Facebook ads page.

Is Marpipe worth it?

Marpipe is worth it for brands with a large catalog, frequent promotions and someone already running the Meta account well, because designed catalog ads can lift results at no extra media cost. It is hard to justify for a store with a few products, a small budget or nobody managing the campaigns, since design does not move budget away from products that do not sell.

Marpipe publishes its own live average from connected accounts: plain catalog ads at a 6.86 return on ad spend and Marpipe enriched catalog ads at 8.18, based on in-platform attribution. Those are vendor figures, not an independent test, but they show where the tool earns its fee. If you spend $20,000 a month on catalog ads, a lift of that size covers Enterprise easily. At $3,000 a month, the $199 to $999 fee is a much larger share of spend, and the daily management usually matters more than the frame.

Marpipe vs AdBot at your ad budget

At $3,000 a month on Meta, Marpipe Startup is about 7% of spend and still leaves the account to you. AdBot Launch at $297 is about 10% of spend and covers the daily buying. Most stores at this level need the buying first.

At $10,000 a month, Marpipe Enterprise at $999 is 10% of spend, or about 5% with the first-year half-price offer. AdBot Launch is about 3%. A store that already has a capable buyer gets more from Marpipe; a store without one gets more from AdBot.

Above $10,000 a month, AdBot Growth at $697 covers up to about $50,000 of spend. At that point many brands run both: Marpipe or a similar tool designs the catalog images, and AdBot manages the product set, budgets and the rest of the account. See every plan on AdBot pricing.

Who AdBot is for, and when Marpipe is the better buy

AdBot fits US Shopify stores spending roughly $1,500 to $50,000 a month on Facebook and Instagram that want the account run daily without hiring a buyer or agency. Compare the cost of a person in our freelance media buyer rates guide.

Marpipe is the better buy if you already have a media buyer, your catalog ads run on plain photos that look like every competitor's, and you advertise on several catalog channels such as TikTok, Pinterest or Snap. AdBot runs Facebook and Instagram only, uses your product photos as they are and does not make video. If you are unsure where the account is losing money right now, start with a Facebook ads audit, and if you want more creative tools, the best AI ad tools list compares them.

Good questions

Questions about Marpipe

If you want the catalog ads run, not only designed, AdBot is the closest fit. It connects to Shopify, runs an Advantage+ catalog campaign in your Meta account, removes sold-out and no-sale products and manages budgets daily for $297 a month. If you want another design tool, Confect is the most common like-for-like choice.
No. Marpipe designs catalog ad creative, manages feeds and can filter weak products through its feed service, and Enterprise adds a design strategist. Budgets, bids, ad sets and daily decisions in Ads Manager stay with you or your media buyer.
Yes. Marpipe states that all variants count as SKUs, not only parent products. A shirt in five sizes and three colors is 15 SKUs, so check your variant count against the 500 SKU cap on Startup before you choose a plan.
For design, Confect Local at $299 a month covers 3,000 products with variants grouped, which is cheaper than Marpipe for stores with many variants. For running the account, AdBot Launch is $297 a month for up to about $10,000 of spend, with no SKU tiers.
Yes. Marpipe can keep designing the catalog images in your feed while AdBot runs the catalog campaign and the rest of the Meta account. The design layer stays where it is.
No. AdBot uses your product photos and writes ad copy. It does not produce product level video, frames or badges. If designed video is the priority, keep a design tool for that part.
Launch is $297 a month for one platform and up to about $10,000 of ad spend, and Growth is $697 for up to about $50,000. Annual billing halves either. Meta bills your ad spend directly and there is no percentage of spend.
